Strawberry Lemonade

Have these measured and ready before you begin.

  • 5 lemons
  • 1/2 cup (100 g) sugar, plus more to taste
  • 8–10 strawberries
  • 1 liter (about 4 1/4 U.S. cups) drinking water

Directions

1. Finely grate the yellow zest from the lemons without removing the bitter white pith.

2. Add the sugar and press it into the zest with a spoon.

3. Grate or finely crush the strawberries into the mixture, continue mashing, then squeeze in the lemon juice.

4. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

5. The next day, stir in the drinking water and refrigerate for 1 hour.

6. Strain and serve cold.
