Hot Chocolate

Have these measured and ready before you begin.

  • about 3/4 U.S. cup plus 1 tablespoon (200 ml) milk
  • 40 g dark chocolate (1.4 oz), finely chopped
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons sugar, to taste
  • 1 pinch hot ground red pepper
  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon

Directions

1. Finely chop the dark chocolate.

2. Heat the milk until steaming but not boiling.

3. Add the chocolate and sugar and cook, stirring, until both dissolve and the drink thickens slightly.

4. Remove from the heat, stir in the red pepper and cinnamon, and serve hot.
