Cookie Dough
Have these measured and ready before you begin.
- 125 g butter (4.4 oz), at room temperature
- 2 large eggs
- about 3/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon (200 ml by volume) powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- about 3/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon (200 ml by volume) chocolate chips
- 300 g all-purpose flour (10.6 oz)
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Directions
1. Beat the room-temperature butter until creamy, add the eggs, and beat again.
2. Mix in the powdered sugar, baking powder, salt, and vanilla.
3. Add the sifted flour and chocolate chips and mix briefly into a dough.
4. Cover and chill for 20 minutes.
5. Scoop 1 1/2-tablespoon portions, roll quickly, and space them 2 inches apart on parchment.
6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 12–15 minutes, until the edges are set and the centers still soft. Cool on the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
